We understood the client’s need to handle the order fulfilment for their UK and US warehouses separately. Our team helped ideate, create and implement a custom app based on which cron jobs were fired three times a day.
Shopify assigns order fulfillment warehouse location to the default location but our client wanted to streamline this based on the location of the warehouse. For instance, email the US warehouse for US orders so that the orders can be fulfilled from the US directly. Same for the UK warehouse. Some of the main challenges included:
To address our client’s request, we decided to follow a custom solution approach by ideating and implementing an app that’d help solve our client’s problem.
Divided 24 hours in 3 slots (i.e. interval of 8 hours) so that orders from the US in each slot will be fulfilled from the US warehouse only.
Regularly checked-in to get client’s instant feedback on the app functionality.
Implemented the app after receiving client approval on app functionalities.
